Remember those Crayfish I mentioned...

Before

After
Here are some pictures of some of the Crayfish the kids caught!

Romantic Night time with an amazing view

After the kids go to bed what better than lighting the chimenia with some charcoal and sitting on the outside sofa with a glass of wine, some toast marsh mellows and an amazing view over the lake.  As the sunsets the reflection of the house from across the Isis Lake is stunning and very tranquil and the fountain in the lake when its going makes a great water feature.

Outside at Lake View we have a dining table that can sit 8 and a sofa.  Do remember to take the cushions in at night!

Love walking? Then you will love the Cotswold Waterpark

The Old Canal filled with lovely flowers
If you love to walk like we do with the children then the Cotswold Waterpark is ideal for you.  Not only are the beautiful rolling Cotswold Hills and villages near by, but there is also miles and miles of local walks and cycle paths on the door stop.

We recently spent the day walking some of these paths starting with following the old disused canal (currently being planned to be put back into action).

As the area around the Waterpark is flat the walks sort all ages and fitness levels!  Bonus

Crayfishing - The kids (and adults) love it!

The kids have had an amazing time at the Cotswold Water Park this week. The weather was lovely and they spent much of it playing with new children they have met, cycling and above all Crayfishing! The stream/river on the Isis Lake is teaming with the critters and with the water so low the normal technique of bacon and crabbing line was not necessary.  This week you could pick them out with your hands.  Caution was advised though as they are fast and aggressive and their pincers sure can give you a nip.

The kids and I got over 50 in one afternoon.  Certainly enough for a salad or sandwich, yum! Before you make an outcry about saving the countryside, the ones we catch are the invading American Crayfish that are a pest in the UKs rivers and eating all in them, so you are doing the environment a favour when you eat them!

Great free fun for all the family.
